The Royal Dutch Geographical Society (KNAG) was founded in 1873. In the beginning the primary objective was the increasing of scientific knowledge of the world and the earth.
KNAG is known for the many expeditions that took place in the 19th and 20th centuries. Today KNAG is the association of nearly 2,700 professionals and lovers of geography, including scientists, students, experts, consultants, policy makers, public administrators and journalists.
